As of next Monday, May 3rd, the Dispatch Centre will temporarily be relocated to City Hall while the current Centre is being renovated.
During the two week period that Dispatch is relocated to the Urban Planning conference room, the dispatchers will be operating on mobile radios (not the Zetron console). This means that there will be no alert tones and no RAM keys. It also means that they will have to have all radios on at full volume at all times, so please be extra patient with our dispatchers.
Instead of an alert tone, the dispatchers will repeat the “10-200” or “second call in sector” twice. Please make sure that your radios are on at a proper volume at all times.
** IT IS IMPORTANT THAT UPON RECEIVING A CALL FROM DISPATCH, THAT A MEMBER OF THE CREW ACKNOWLEDGES RECEIPT OF THE MESSAGE (e.g. “10-04”) **
We are looking into an alternative solution to allow releases of the RAM box. RAM key releases will only be done when needed to gain access to a building and not for test purposes at the start of a shift.
