Anyone who has been driving around the Luc lately has surely noticed two big development projects that are currently underway.
The Aquatic and Community Centre is being built on Parkhaven (between Trinity and Mackle). This new building will house two indoor pools, one a 10-lane, 25 meter competition pool, and the other an activity pool for swimming lessons, aquafitness and play. The activity pool will feature a beach entrance. The facility will also feature a series of multi-purpose rooms, offices for the Seniors Clubs, a kidnasium, a mini library, a teen drop-in centre, a workout facility, dance studio and much much more. The construction is scheduled to end at the end of March, with the building planning to open in September 2011.
The other large project underway in the city is the demolition of the southern half of Cavendish Mall and the construction of new single family, semi-detached and townhouse homes. The demolition started this week, with the first task being to “surgically” separate the remaining Mall from the portion to be demolished. The demolition phase of the project should end by the end of December.
And now you know of all of the exciting developments underway in CSL.
