General Guidelines for Writing Reports
- Respiratory rates are often forgotten. These are especially important when dealing with patients who have an altered state of consciousness, have respiratory difficulties or distress.
- When patients are weak or confused, a CBGM is important to take.
- Trauma patients should almost always receive O2. We should always do a wet check, a head to toe check, and a neuro screen.
- Children and babies should always be given O2. While this may be difficult to do at times, an attempt to administer O2 must be made.
- Members are not to take orders from other people on scene, except if it is a medical doctor who gives you their permit # and takes responsibility for the call, or a midwife in the case of a birth.
